About
Kevin is a second-generation Wisconsin forester, beginning work with his father’s forestry consulting business in 1975 at the age of 13!  He went on to attend school at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in forestry and Business administration.  Kevin worked in various positions and locations at his father’s consulting firm for the first 27 years of his forestry career.  He then moved on to starting his own consulting firm in 2002, specializing in forest inventory, and the sales, training, and technical support for the first software/hardware suite of technological solutions for forestry applications.  Kevin had joined the U.S. Army right out of High School, and in 2004 he was activated for a tour of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III – he retired from the military in 2006 with 25 years of honorable service.    In 2008, Kevin accepted a position with his alma mater, UWSP, as the Forest Ecologist for the Treehaven Field Station in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.  This position oversaw forest management for all UWSP owned properties and provided forestry and wildlife students with real-world management experience. Kevin also instructed numerous campus-based forestry and GIS classes, in addition to Treehaven and CNR summer camp courses.  Kevin has been with the Wisconsin Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL) as the Senior Forester since late 2017.  Kevin’s strengths include operational planning and scheduling, along with a passion for turning raw data into useable information via automated workflows using ArcGIS and database/spreadsheet applications.
