For those researchers who wish to view the documents on site they are asked to contact the BCPL Madison Office several days in advance to ensure the records are available and to schedule an appointment.

As most of the archival documents are more than a century old, they require special handling to ensure their long-term preservation. Many of our documents have now been placed in archival sleeves to protect them from physical damage and contact with acidic fingers, paper or mold.

While we are happy to assist individuals in using the original records, we are making efforts to provide online access to them.
