LOAN PROGRAM > Success Stories
Since its inception, the State Trust Fund Loan Program has financed projects in every county in the state. Over the last 15 years, two-thirds of the state’s school districts and one-half of its municipalities have taken advantage of these loans. Most importantly, the interest paid returns to every Wisconsin community in the form of public school library aid.
These profiles highlight three projects made possible through the State Trust Fund Loan Program.
- Bayfield - $350,000 loan toward renovation of the Bayfield County Courthouse taking into account the building’s historical significance and the U.S. Forest Service’s requirements as tenant
- Kewaskum - $676,000 loan to renovate Kewaskum High School, including art, special education, and library/media center upgrades and construction of a new auditorium
- La Crosse - $21,500,000 in loans over four years to fund ongoing riverfront restoration, downtown revitalization, and brownfield reclamation
